Leavetaking of Pascha & Ascension Day: Wednesday 16th May

Come and celebrate with us on Wednesday 16th May!

At 7 pm we will sing the Paschal Hours for the last time this year to mark the Leavetaking of Pascha: the Epitaphios / Plaschanitsa will be returned to its place at the back of the church, accompanied by the final singing of the Paschal Troparion.

At around 7.30 pm we will begin Vespers and the Divine Liturgy of the Ascension.

As well as being a Feast of the Lord, the Ascension is the ‘Feast of Title’ of our church – so a very important day in our calendar. Come and celebrate the Feast!

Services on Sunday 6 May 2018

Christ is risen!
The Church of the Ascension will be closed for repairs to the floor on Sunday 6 May. But we are delighted that it will still be possible to serve the Liturgy in Rugby on that day.
God willing, Matins will be served as usual at 9.30 am and the Liturgy at 10.15 am in the hall of the United Reformed Church, 40 Hillmorton Rd, Rugby CV22 5AD. A map showing the location of the hall may be found here:
I know that some of us will be away for the Bank Holiday weekend and/or Half Term, but it would be wonderful if as many of us as possible could come together to serve the Liturgy with joy and enthusiasm!
Many thanks to the United Reformed Church for their help, kindness, and hospitality.
May God bless you
Father Kosmas

Invitation to Coventry Parish Feast

The Community of our neighbouring Parish of the Transfiguration, Coventry, have invited us to share in the celebration of their Parish Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

Great Vespers will be celebrated in the Church of the Transfiguration on Saturday 5th August 2017 at 7 pm. Refreshments will be served in the Church Hall after the service from around 8.15 pm.

All are welcome! A map showing the location of the Church may be found here.

If you plan to attend, please let our Chairman, Philip Economou, know as soon as possible so that we can provide numbers for catering purposes.

Ordination of Reader David as Subdeacon

We are delighted to announce the Ordination to the Subdiaconate of Reader David Johnson. His Ordination will take place in the Church of Saint Mary and Saint Marina, Stoke on Trent, on Sunday 16 July, before the Liturgy.

May the Lord God grant David and his family Many Years!
