After the Referendum

Our Chairman has sent the following message to members of our Community:

“The deep divisions within our society revealed by the recent referendum have caused dismay, fear, and shame amongst many people here in Rugby and of course elsewhere within the UK. On behalf of our Committee and of our Community I would like to assure our brothers and sisters in Christ from the EU and elsewhere who may be thinking that they are no longer welcome in our Community that this is not the case: all are welcome, of whatever background and nationality they have been given, for we are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28).

“We must be the most international community in all of Rugby. A great blessing has been the increase in the number of Orthodox Christians who have joined our Community from so many different countries and who have strengthened it by their presence. It is a privilege and a joy to have our church filled each week with so many different languages, and so many different ages.”

We rejoice that in our worship week by week, we experience a foretaste of the worship in heaven, where a great multitude … of all nations, and tribes, and people, and languages join to worship God together (Revelation 7:9).

To Him be glory forever and ever!
