Exaltation of the Cross – Sunday 14 September

Sunday 14 September is the Feast of the Universal Exaltation of the Precious and Lifegiving Cross.  The ceremony of the Exaltation and Veneration of the Holy Cross will be held at the end of Matins – about 10.15 am.  This means that the Divine Liturgy will begin a little later than usual.

Although it is a Feast Day, the Exaltation of the Cross is a day of fasting: wine and oil may be consumed, but not meat or dairy products.  Please remember this if you are bringing refreshments to share after the Liturgy!
